REVIEW
For those who are wondering: yes, I am aware of the existence of the film Sword Art Online - Extra Edition, but I am not going to dedicate a review about it since it is a recap, then I would end up with only repeat what I have already written last week. So, if I had to say something about it, I'll do it now: it is useless (as all recap, for that matter), bad and you do not see it. You just need to know what time Kirito is in contact with the government and is more than before because, uncle, now drives a big bike as well, so we'll skip by and pass over.
The story
SAO 2 is divided into three arches, or Phantom Bullet, Calibur and Mother's Rosary. Phantom Bullet, whose plot is written above, tries to emulate the arch of Aincrad, trying to make it darker and thrillers, unfortunately, but it failed to fully. To begin with, the series has no reason to be called Sword Art Online since it takes place everywhere except in SAO (personally call Kirito Rulez!), As I doubt that the survivors return to a war so out of hand in the place where They were trapped for two years and a world fun with it. Sinon, the new entry, starts well, serving as a cool character in the game but haunted by a past trauma in real life, only to fall in turn into the maelstrom of the harem of Kirito and go, then, eclipsed by the presence of this 'last. To these, we add an increased fanservice and an antagonist of the reason confusing and inconsistent.
Made effeminate because ... I do not know, maybe they wanted to stuff them also a and at the last they decided it was too (which, if you really had to do, why to choose when GGO Alfheim Online is a more feminine of times CENTILLION any other game on earth?). however, is a filler. Neither more nor less. And, to make matters worse, the threat here totally jumps out of nowhere: Ragnarok destroy Alfheim Online? When cabbage has been written that had to happen, and why? For the rest, it does not help to develop the characters or give some significant twist to the story (although we are talking about the damn Ragnarok). And finally, we have Mother's Rosary. That, to put it bluntly, it will tear your heart out and it is up to Spiller's squeeze out the last drop of your blood. In this arc, the story focuses on Asuna (then the camera will move to Kirito. I know, it is stunning to the very idea!) And the friendly relationship that will tighten with video IOC twice Tekken. Among all, Mother's Rosary, while being in turn a filler as Calibur, proves to be the best arc of the entire series, perhaps even more than that of Aincrad . without spoiler, I will just say that it has a better development of the characters, avoid touching each thematic harem, gives humanity to characters that might otherwise be the stereotype of idiot bastard (I love you anyway, Sugou!) explores concepts such as the importance of relying on their aspirations, has by far the best emotional sequences and, most importantly, dO NOT FOCUS oN Kirito. Indeed, here he is Kirito even relegated to secondary character semi-invisible in favor of the most interesting players like Asuna. WTF ?! The only possible explanation for this is that some subversive writer wrote secretly this arc and has sent in secret to the animators, no doubt! Ok, maybe in some places it will be overly dramatic, but Mother's Rosary managed to keep me on the verge of tears throughout the final. Definitely, if you had to finish SAO 2 with a filler, I am glad they chose this.
The characters
I would say that there is not much to say here. Kirito is increasingly Kirito and need is to get tattooed in front of the word Bitch, I Am Awesome! Asuna, from which prominent fighter deserved to be has been relegated to a healer of the group and put in the back because, being still too attached to Kirito, he threatened to expose its flatness; but fortunately for us, it has been resurrected for the last year. The support members as Lisbeth, Leafa, Silica, Klein and Agil evolve to support characters that do not disappear for centric bets and have a good output from time to time. Sinon is well defined, and so far it remains one of my favorite actors, but, as always, end up losing their charism to blame of Kirito and disappear into anonymity. Gun Death is not as intriguing as Kayaba as an antagonist, but I must admit that of the surviving Sword Art Online rendered psychotic by what he experienced is a concept not bad, especially for a psychological thriller as it wants to be Phantom Bullet. Tekken, for how few episodes to be afforded, manages to be pleasant at all for everything and touch the viewer's heart.
The animation
Same as the first season, so you can go and reread what I have written here . The only difference is that the action scenes are improved again. Ah, and the end is wonderful to behold.
Acting and soundtrack
Always good. Miyuki Sawashiro (Sinon) is proving gradually as one of my favorite DOUBLING and is perfect for the roles to be the badass of the situation (despite a curious difficulty playing the laughs, but they are details). The opening of Phantom Bullet exudes epic engine that the series is not there then pushes me to sue A-1 Pictures for fraudulent advertising. On a personal level, and Starter Shirushi is my favorite, the first for animations (Sinon penciled, maybe I could say no?) And the second for the way it binds to the emotional aspect of the last arc.
